“If you don’t like something change it;
if you can’t change it,
change the way you think about it.”
if you can’t change it,
change the way you think about it.”
~ Mary Engelbreit
The older I get the more I realize, that words will not harm me, if I do not allow them to. Furthermore, words can heal me if I let them. Here is an example, when you see following word how does it make you feel?
“Smile”
I
remember many years ago as a young boy, I was feeling blue one day, my
dad seeing this asked if I wanted to know how to make my self feel
better, so I said “sure.” So he very loudly clapped his hands in front
of him, and with a broad smile he shouted “Boy Do I Feel Good!” And you know what, It worked. After doing this several times I completely forgot what I was blue about.Just thinking about that exercise can put a smile on my face. I can see my dads big toothy grin as he claps his hands and shouts those positive words. Not only are positive words essential to a positive attitude, so are positive thoughts. Positive thinking breeds positive results, negative thinking breeds negative results.
